How to change the upload size in phpMyAdmin? By default you get a 2mb limit of upload / import size in phpmyadmin. That makes it odd and highly impossible to import larger files. You can increase the allowed upload size of phpmyadmin by editing your server’s php.ini configuration file.
Unable to upload MySQL dump in phpMyAdmin with the following error appear in phpMyAdmin interface. You probably tried to upload a file that is too large. Please refer to the documentation for a workaround for this limit. Mysql Dump file is too large.
Can you tell me how can I change max file size on phpmyadmin? MY php.ini configuration as below:
post_max_size = 200M
upload_max_filesize = 200M
I have restarted apache several times and with no results.
This is common when you are using CPanel, Plesk or other hosting control panel. Well i will guide to change the upload size in phpmyadmin via CPanel and Plesk control panel in this how to tutorial.
How to change the upload size in phpMyAdmin for CPanel
If you have a large database dump file that you need to import, you will need to change the max size that can be imported. This is not handled by the default php.ini file on the server, so increasing that will not help.
To increase it, login to the WHM, click on tweak settings, then click on the PHP tab and change both of these settings.
# cPanel PHP max POST size (Minimum: 55; Maximum: 2,047)
# cPanel PHP max upload size (Minimum: 50; Maximum: 2,047)
Once you have changed these, you should restart the cpanel services. Log to your SSH and type command.
$ service cpanel restart
How to change the upload size in phpMyAdmin for Plesk
Your customers can not upload MySQL dump in phpMyAdmin, because dump file is too large. The following error appears in phpMyAdmin interface:
“You probably tried to upload a file that is too large. Please refer to documentation for a workaround for this limit.”
So you need to oncrease parameters in Plesk php config file:
For Debian: /opt/psa/admin/conf/php.ini
For CentOS: /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/php.ini
Set the following values greater than the dump file size:
upload_max_filesize = 2000M
post_max_size = 2000M
Apply changes by restarting sw-engine service:
$ service sw-engine restart
Now when importing the max filesize will be increased to whatever you set this to.
